Task

Each group will consist of four people:

1. Weather Expert - The Weather Expert will find out what kind of weather
can be expected in the chosen city and country in December.
2. Transportation Planner - The Transportation Planner will locate the city
and country on a globe or map. He or she will also be responsible for
finding out how to get there (i.e. by plane, ship or car) and what type of
transportation would be used in that country to get around.
3. Sightseeing and Meal Planner - The Sightseeing and Meal Planner will
find out what is interesting and unique to see while visiting the country
and what types of foods the citizens usually eat.
4. Holiday Investigator - The Holiday Investigator will be responsible for
researching the December holiday tradition in the chosen country and
summarizing how people usually celebrate the holiday.

Take an imaginary trip to one of the following cities and countries:

1. Berlin, Germany or
2. Mexico City, Mexico or
3. Rome, Italy or
4. Pretoria, South Africa

Produce a travel brochure for that country that would persuade the rest of
the class to want to visit there in December!

The brochure will be written on a tri-fold 11 X 14 piece of paper and your
group can present the brochure in any way that you want, however, all group
members must be involved in the presentation. The brochures need to contain
the following information:

1. The usual weather in that city and country in December so people would
know what kind of clothing to pack for their trip.
2. How a person would get there and how they would travel around in that
city and country.
3. What kinds of interesting and unique places there are to see there and
what kinds of food they can expect to eat while visiting there.
4. A descriptive summary of their holiday tradition.

In order to make the brochure really persuasive, your group should put some
artwork on it.
