Journal Questions

Imagination time! Imagine you are out on a snowy mountain. Everywhere you
look there are beautiful snow covered Evergreens. All you can hear is the
wind whistling the fine tune of loneliness. You shiver from the cold that
chills your bones and dream of a warm cooked supper. You take out your
pencil and start to write in your journal about your day.

Did I grab your attention? I sure hope so! Your job is to write Journal
Entries based on these questions. Pretend you are the one up in the
mountains. Good luck!

Here are the questions you will need to write about:

Journal Entry 1 Chapters 1-3

Would you like to move away and live alone in the mountains like Sam did?
What do you think your parents would do?

*There is not a Journal Entry due for Chapters 4-6

Journal Entry 2 Chapters 7-11

You have now been alone in the Catskills for some time now. Tell about your
experiences. Remember to write in first person.

Journal Entry 3 Chapters 12-15

Sam had an interesting halloween with his "friends". Imagine you were there
as an animal. Tell about your funny adventure from the animals point of
view. Be creative!

Journal Entry 4 Chapters 16-19

You have experienced a long hard winter in the Catskills. Tell about how you
survived. What did you do each day to keep warm? What did you do to find
food? What did you do to occupy your time?

Journal Entry 5 Chapters 20-22

Your family has come to visit you after all this time alone in the
Catskills. They want to build you a house there. What do you think? Do you
like the idea or would you rather live off the land? Explain.
