Atticus Finch
Atticus Finch was a dynamic lawyer who defended a black man, Tom Robinson,
who was accused of raping a white women during the Great Depression in a
small town of Alabama in the 1930�s. Atticus was portrayed as confident but
not aggressive. He was broadminded, tolerant, patient, and non
confrontational. Atticus was a highly respected lawyer and the towns people
tried to convince him not to defend Tom Robinson. But he was a man of
morals and wanted to do the right thing. He was also known for his
tolerance, patience, and resonableness.
You have assumed the role of Atticus Finch. Your job is to describe what
life was like for a single father of two children after the depression. You
must also describe the pressure you faced as the lawyer of an African-
American man in the 1930's. Be sure to include how your personality helped
you through everything.
