Introduction


While many American’s celebrate Halloween and Thanksgiving in the fall, 
another significant holiday occurs in between which is celebrated by 
the Mexican community in the United States and throughout Latin 
America.  “El Día de los Muertos”, or “The Day of the Dead” is a unique 
holiday that celebrates the lives of the family and friends that have 
passed.  Through the decorating of graves and altars, the dead are 
remembered in a joyful and humerous way in order to celebrate the 
lives of the dead.
