Top Text Title: Top Text: The percussion family is the largest and most diverse group of instruments in the orchestra. It includes anything that you strike, shake or scrape to make a musical sound. There are also other ways of classifying percussion instruments. As you discover some members of the percussion family, try grouping them in more than one way. These sites will help you learn about the percussion family. You'll learn the instrument names and even be able to listen to them. Remember your tasks: 1. Name the instruments. Please group them in at least 2 different ways. 2. List at least 2 similarities and 2 differences among the percussion instruments. 3. What is your favorite percussion instrument--and why? The public library will have books AND recordings that you can check out. Of course, once you decide what your favorite percussion instrument is, you can always check iTunes and download some great music--with parent permission, of course! If you know someone who plays a percussion instrument, maybe they�d let you give it a try!
