Task

Your group is made up of three different forest ranger positions that are
employed at the park. They are as follows:
  1. Park ranger - Your task is to research information about the area of Georgia where your park resides. What makes up the environment (grasslands, swamps, mountains, etc.)? What makes your park special to the state of Georgia? What do visitors enjoy most about this area of Georgia?
  2. Biologist - Your task is to research information about the wildlife in your area. Describe the different types of animals that call your park home. What food do they eat? How do they survive predators? What do they use as shelter?
  3. Conservation educator - Your task is to research the conservation of this area. What makes this area unique to Georgia? What natural resources are located here? Imagine what this area would be like if the habitat was altered?
After doing your research, be prepared to make a presentation along with the other park rangers in your class describing your area of Georgia. This presentation should include:
  1. A description of your area of Georgia. Include the geography of the land, the environment, and information about your park. You need to include a written description and pictures of the area.
  2. A description of the wildlife found in this area. Why is it important and can it be found in other areas of the state? Be sure to include facts and pictures with your presentation.
  3. Why does this area need to be protected for future generations? What natural resources are located here? What would happen to this area if it was not protected?
