You will obtain a table template from your editor and list a) each state in your region b)the capital of each state c) the state bird d) the state flower e) important landmarks f)national parks g)cultural points of interest and h) famous people from this state.� Be prepared to share this information in a "jigsaw" group. 2.� You will locate a recipe from your region or one of the states in your region suitable for cooking on the school cooking cart.� The recipe will be cooked for the Mercator Awards presentation and published in the final magazine. 3.� You will write a 5 paragraph essay that discusses characteristics (e.g. foods,celebrations, music, art, etc.) of (a)cultural group(s) in your specific region. 4.� You will write a narrative (fictional story) that takes place in your specific region.� You will need to include at least 4 accurate descriptors (e.g. cities, landscape or geographical features such as mountains, rivers, etc., or cultural aspects) of your region in order to score a 4 on the rubric.
