You and your group are the world’s top scholars and your task is of the
greatest importance to the future security of the world! You come from all
over the world. In fact, there is one scholar in your group from most of the
major nations involved in WWII. The members of your taskforce come from the
United States (US), the former Soviet Union (USSR), Germany, and Japan. Each
of you will research the entrance into WWII of your own nation. That research
will include the important events that led up to your nation’s entrance into
the war, the catalyst for your nation’s entrance into the war (in other words,
the specific reason why or the specific event that finally pushed your nation
into war), as well as your own interpretation, or opinion of the events you
have researched. You will each navigate the links that have been provided for
you in your nations file folder. There are a number of questions provided
as well to help guide the direction of your search. After your research has
been completed the taskforce will meet and discuss their findings and you will
collectively put together a newsletter for the members of the UN General
Assembly. That newsletter will describe what you discovered in your research
and your interpretation of the information that you found. You will also be
giving a 10 minute presentation of your findings for the U.N. Security Council.
