First, you will be broken up into groups of four.
Second, you will meet with your group and decide who will take on the role of
each nation represented on the taskforce.
Third, go to the file folder for you nation. Read the various questions in
the folder. These questions are a guide for your search and discovery. If
you think of different questions that interest you, but that remain within the
boundaries of the objective of the taskforce, even better!
Fourth, after you have reviewed the questions explore all the links provided
in your file folder. Through these links you will find the evidence you need
to answer your questions and create your own theory regarding the entrance of
your nation into WWII.
Fifth, meet with your taskforce to discuss the information you discovered and
the various theories you have created. Once everyone has discussed their
findings and shared their theory, your taskforce will decide which nations you
think can share in the blame for causing WWII. You can claim that one
country, a few, or all of the countries researched can share in the blame for
causing the war, but remember, whatever your answer, you have to back it up
with good reasons!
Sixth, your taskforce will create a newsletter for the U.N. General Assembly.
The newsletter must contain five articles and some pictures. Each of the
members of your task force will write one article that answers your research
questions as well as explains and defends your theory of why your individual
nations entered the war. The sixth article will be written by taskforce
collectively and will answer the question of who can share in the blame for
causing WWII.
Seventh, your taskforce will meet with the U.N. Security Council and present
your findings.
