Process

*Once you have been assigned the topic for your magazine, find your role
number and follow the links provided to begin your research. The roles are
as follows:

Role 1--Religious customs and beliefs of the Ibo

Role 2--Traditions of the Ibo

Role 3--Role of women in the Ibo culture

Role 4--Colonialism in Africa

*Use the suggested websites to conduct your research. You should use at
least 4-5 electronic resources to conduct your research. Use the links
provided, but also conduct your own research using the database links
provided and search terms that you think are relevant.

*Be sure to take Cornell Notes as you conduct your research. DO NOT just
print out a bunch of pages from the internet. DO NOT copy directly from the
sources-rewrite the information in your own words.

*As you conduct your research, be sure to create a Works Consulted page
using the citation maker link that can be found with the websites listed for
your topic. Also, be sure to follow the correct procedure for using and
citing images you find for your magazine cover.

*A reminder: DO NOT COPY AND PASTE! As you conduct your research, you should
be gathering information and writing that information in your own words. You
must cite any and all direct quotes or paraphrases from the resources you
consult.

*Be sure to print out your Works Consulted page when you are done with your
research for the class session. You can print your Works Consulted page
directly from the Citation Maker page as you create your citations, or you
may copy and paste your citations into a Word document. Remember, the
Citation Maker does not alphabetize or format your citations. You must do
that on your own.

*NOTE: The Ibo people are also known as the Igbo people. Remember this while
conducting your research!*
