1.) Review the Evaluation Rubric and determine what elements you need to
include in your presentation.
2.) Examine the descriptions of the different Research Team Assignments to
better understand the different phases of the Vietnam War that must be
covered in your teams presentation to the United Nations.
Historian #1: The War Begins
Historian #2: The Eisenhower, Kennedy, and Johnson Years
Historian #3: A Conflict Becomes A War
Historian #4: The War’s End
Historian #5: The Aftermath
3.) In your group decide which of the assignments each team member will be
assigned.
4.) Using the websites and texts provided for each phase of the Vietnam War
gather the information, images, and audio that you will need in order to
create your part of the presentation.
5.) Take the information, images, and audio that you gathered from each
website and create your own 3-4 slide PowerPoint presentation on the phase
you were assigned. Your 3-4 slides will later be combined with other
members on your research team.
6.) Once you have created your 3-4 slides synthesize and further refine the
information that you included in your presentation on your phase of the
war. Remember, be accurate and detailed your presenting your findings
before the United Nations General Assembly!
7.) Once you have created your 3-4 slides take that information and simplify
it into a debriefing for the class, and the United Nations. Your part of
the debriefing should only be about a paragraph, or about a quarter of a
Microsoft Word document. This will later be combined with the debriefings
from your fellow research team members.
8.) Edit, proofread, and further refine your PowerPoint and summary outline.
9.) Share your part of the PowerPoint and debriefing with someone else on
your team and make any adjustments or corrections that they suggest and you
think are necessary.
10.) Transfer your part of the PowerPoint to the school server.
11.) As a team combine each team members PowerPoint into one single
PowerPoint presentation.
12.) Choose a single PowerPoint slide design and add any animation you feel
is necessary.
13.) Rehearse and prepare, as a team, to present your findings on the
Vietnam War to the class.
