1. You will be assigned to one of four groups representing the points of
view of Japan, Russia, the United States, and Germany.
2. The groups will have two days to complete research on why each
country became involved in the war. You may need to finish some
research as homework.
3. Group members will find research questions and Internet links on
each country's page. The groups will divide questions among
members. Each person will answer a minimum of 3 questions. Notes
will be required and collected as part of the grade.
4. Upon the completion of the research, members will briefly meet to
verify the information. At this time groups will assign roles to members
for the final oral presentation. Each final presentation consists of an
introduction, answers to the research questions, and a conclusion.
Each member will be required to do a write-up for their part in the
presentation.
5. Students will have class time to write presentation paper and practice
as a group.
6. Groups will make presentations to class. All students will create
graphic organizers to record the results of all the groups' presentations.
7.The final product of this assignment will be a personal reflection
essay describing the reasons why these countries participated in World
War II. Include any possible factors which might have prevented WWII
from happening.
