1. You will be placed into one of the 4 categories: Germany, Japan, USA or
England. It will be important to be able to see things through another set of
eyes.
2. You will determine as a group why your country went to war. Each country
decided to go to war, whether they were the instigators or not, so come up
with a collaboration of reasons as to why your country decided to fight.
3. Its research time. You will consult your notes, book, and the various links
provided to determine why each country went to war. There are a lot of
logistics but some of the most basic answers that seem too easy to be true may
work just fine. Dig deep but also look and see what's on the surface.
4. As a group you will work though the different questions and will come up
with various answers and will be presenting these answers/reasons to the
class, which don't forget, are also your enemies.
5. After our big group discussion it will be time to put what we have learned
to paper by writing a reflection paper on what you learned, what you thought
about the assignment, and if your specific country was justified in going to
war, or if it was unnecessary. Then you will speculate what you think history
would be like if World War II didn't happen. I realize this may be hard to do,
but it's important to try to think outside the box on this one.
*This project is meant to get you thinking. It will get your imagination
flowing and allow your creativity to flow and it will also allow for you to
fine tune your critical thinking skills.
