There will be four people in a group and each person will be assigned one of these roles:
King/Queen
Lord/Lady
Knight
Serf
Here you will be provided instructions and guidance for completion of the multimedia presentation,
role project, and oral presentation.
Multimedia presentation
For this project, you are required to create a PowerPoint presentation to teach us about your role in
Medieval society. As you complete each step, go to the multimedia rubric page and check the rubric
(you may want to print it out) to make sure you have included all the requirements.
Your presentation must take full advantage of the multimedia aspects of PowerPoint and have at
least one of each of the following: Chart, graphic or clip art, digital or scanned photo, animation of 3
bulleted items on one slide, background or design template, transition, sound from PowerPoint, and
an animated clipart.
• Keep it simple and organized.
• You should have enough slides to cover all research questions.
• Create a path for the eye by dividing space in interesting ways.
• Your presentation must be neat and professional, including correct grammar, spelling, and
punctuation.
• Your presentation should follow basic rules of design, especially limiting the amount of text on the
screen at an given time.
- Maximum of 7 lines and 7 words per line.
- Font size is 24 point type.
- Avoid elegant or curly font type.
- Keep all design templates or background schemes the same.
- Limit transitions to 3.
- Limit bullets to 6 per slide.
- Use sounds sparingly – only when needed for enhancement.
- Graphics should be related to content.
- Use contrasting colors for text and background.
Role Projects
Each project is detailed in the specific section devoted to your role. Before you complete your
project, go to the project rubric page and check the rubric (you may want to print it out) to make
sure you have included all the requirements.
1. Before you begin read all the direction first.
2. Decide on what material you will use.
3. Do not buy a kit that has the project already made.
4. Make sure that the project is creative.
5. You are required to have a superior product, so do not rush.
Oral Presentation
This is the easiest part of your quest.
1. Be sure you have all equipment you need before your presentation.
2. Put information on index cards … just in case you forget while you are presenting.
3. Present your whole work and be prepared to answer any questions that the students or I
might have.
